File Attachments

Overview​

You can attach images to individual steps in your workflow. Each step can have up to 5 image files, which are displayed when viewing your flow and included when you export.

Attaching Files to Steps​

Opening the Attachments Tab​

To add attachments to a step:

  1. Click on a step to open the step editor
  2. Select the Attachments tab

Uploading Images​

You can upload images in two ways:

  • Drag & Drop: Drag image files directly onto the upload area
  • Click to Browse: Click the upload area to select files from your device

Supported File Types​

You can attach the following image formats:

  • PNG (.png)
  • WebP (.webp)
  • SVG (.svg)
  • JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
  • GIF (.gif)

File Size and Limits​

  • Maximum file size: 500KB per image
  • Maximum files per step: 5 images
  • You can attach the same image to multiple steps if needed

Managing Attachments​

Adding Captions​

Each image has an editable caption field. Click the caption area to add or edit a description for your image.

Previewing Attachments​

Thumbnail previews of all attached images are displayed in the Attachments tab, making it easy to see what's attached to each step.

Removing Attachments​

To remove an attachment:

  1. Locate the image you want to remove
  2. Click the trash icon next to the image
  3. The attachment will be removed immediately

Viewing Attachments​

In the Flow Editor​

Attached images are indicated in the flow editor. Steps with attachments display a visual indicator.

In Document View​

When viewing your flow in document mode, all attached images are displayed inline with their associated steps.

In Exports​

When you export your flow, all attached images are included in the export, preserving the complete context of your workflow.

Tips and Best Practices​

  • Descriptive Captions: Add clear captions to help others understand the purpose of each image
  • Optimize File Sizes: Compress large images before uploading to stay within the 500KB limit
  • Consistent Formats: Use consistent image formats throughout your flow for a professional appearance
  • Relevant Images Only: Attach images that add value and context to the step

Common Questions​

Q: What happens if I try to upload a file that's too large?
A: You'll see an error message and the file won't be uploaded. Compress or resize the image and try again.

Q: Can I attach PDFs or documents?
A: No, currently only image files are supported.

Q: What happens to attachments when I delete a step?
A: The attachments are deleted along with the step.

Q: Can I reorder attachments?
A: Attachments are displayed in the order they were uploaded.

Q: Are attachments included when I share my flow?
A: Yes, when you share a flow, all attachments are included with the shared version.
